SAFE SEX & DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN Please party safely and respect yourself and others. Presented in association with Sero Zero, Boston Hope and Durex Canada

The Black & Blue Festival features an innovative safe sex and drug abuse prevention and education program. Make sure to get the detailed information pamphlet at the entrance of the Leather Ball, Military Ball and Black & Blue Party.

A few guidelines: • Always be aware of your body’s limits, take time to rest, sleep and eat properly between the events. It’s really not necessary to do heavy drugs to have fun, a fact that more and more people are realizing. Good music, your own adrenalin, energy "smart drinks" and natural supplements can also be effective to help you dance for hours. • When partying, say NO to GHB, an extremely unpredictable and very dangerous drug, and avoid at all cost the mixing of different drugs and the mixing of drugs like K with alcohol. GHB can be very dangerous even at minimal doses, JUST STAY AWAY FROM IT. Apart from strong doses of one particular drug, always avoid the mixing of hard drugs together, even in small quantities, as this can be the cause of serious complications. DO NOT take extasy if you are HIV positive and using a protease inhibitor, as the combination can be harmful. Make sure to drink enough water or juice to avoid dehydration. Cranberry juice in good quantity can help you eliminate toxins faster and reduce bad side effects. • If you do not feel well at the event, please get off the dance floor, relax and re-hydrate yourself. Please do not hesitate to get some help, via your friends or at the entrance. There is a first-aid team on site at each of the main three events. If you are in a smaller event in a club, please report to the door staff. REMEMBER THAT PEOPLE ON SITE ARE THERE TO HELP ! PLEASE BE COOPERATIVE BY PROVIDING ALL INFORMATION ABOUT THE TYPE AND AMOUNT OF DRUGS YOU HAVE TAKEN IN ORDER TO BETTER ASSESS YOUR CONDITION, IF NECESSARY. Please be responsible as your personal behaviour can have a positive effect on your life and on everyone’s good time at the party.

REMEMBER: Know when to say NO to party drugs. Until there’s a cure ALWAYS use condoms.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a great time !
