We intend to change that with this survey. The results will provide anyone interested in this area of sexual expressi= on with useful, accurate information about many aspects of BDSM practitioners. By completing the questionnaire, you will be helping establish this accurate picture of who does BDSM, how, and why. The idea is to gather psychological and sociological data from BDSM practitioners with a view to understanding them better and comparing them to the population at large. While my fellow researchers and I have some ideas about what we're likely to find, I'm sure that there will be several surprises. To date, there have been few such academic research projects, and most of those were very superficial. This survey should correct all that and give us some solid facts for when we need them. The survey is very thorough in the questions that it asks, so it does require a commitment of approximately two hours to complete. We already have over 350 _completed_ questionnaires, but we'd like to see that increase to well over 1,000.
