REVIEW OF PALM SPRINGS LEATHER PRIDE 2000

I was very proud to be a San Diegan this last weekend, because there
were a lot of us in Palm Springs, celebrating with the folks from all over
Southern California. It was the largest out-of-town gathering of San
Diegans in a long time, and it was nice to see everybody there, being so
nice to each other.
The events were well-attended, and the Warm Sands Villas was actually
pretty darned nice as a location. The events at the Tool Shed were
JAMMED, and my, weren't the men flirtatious!
I was very impressed with Dale Breunig and his crack team of
volunteers, because they delivered a very enjoyable weekend. The
Formal Leather Dinner was AWESOME, gathering folks from Avatar, PSLOD and
San Diego, and nearly ALL of us were wearing dark blue uniforms - Avatar
and PSLOD use dark blue uniform shirts for their club colors, and I just
wandered in wearing the current fashion without knowing beforehand...
Tracy Deroche is the new Mr. Palm Springs Leather 2001, and he
strikes me as a motivated, inspirational leader. Palm Springs'
leather community has been growing in pride and effectiveness ever
since Dale became the main mover-and-shaker, and Tracy joins a great
team of hard-working folks who are making a difference!
I didn't take any pictures this weekend, so I will post the links
here as soon as a few other folks post theirs...

I did a lot of research on the biggest annual events that would tempt
local leatherfolks into traveling to other cities. You really want to add
a lot of the stuff here to your calendar. You'll also notice a LOT of
web-links, which will substitute for the endless listings and re-listings
(and long, long e-mails) of the past.
I'll DEFINITELY be back at Rampart tonight, dancing with my brothers,
happy as hell, after being too sick to attend for a few months. Save me

tomorrow night is the Black Out Party at ZONE.
Next weekend, we'll be donating blood for Matt Blankenship, and the
Tuesday after that there are free Hepatitis B vaccines at the Center
in San Diego.
Starting next week, I'm handing over most of my Los-Angeles-area
event coverage over to my good buddy Kevin in L.A., who has been
operating a list like mine, and does a much better job than I do when it

Odyssey Adventures presents the 2nd Annual Private Party ("Gay
Night") at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
7:30 PM to 1:00 AM (but a little bird tells me that the gates will
likely open at about 7PM - or as soon as the regular day crowd is
out of the park). Tickets are $34 at the gate (which is $7 off the
regular admission price) and parking is free.
If you want to meet up with the Bears (and who wouldn't?), they
have a meeting place set up at the Mooseburger Lodge at 8:15 PM. Be
careful not to eat too much - or you might not fit on Batman The
Ride (Right Vito?) : )

cooperation with the Red Cross is organizing the "I do for you what I can
do" blood drive for Matt Blankenship. It will be held on Saturday,
November 18th, 2000 at the American Red cross Blood Services, Southern
California Region, San Diego division which is located at 7675 Mesa

Appointments are necessary for those donating blood and we have 1/4
hour time slots available starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 2:00 PM.
So far the first slot has been filled. We will be providing
refreshments and snacks but all blood donors are requested to eat
breakfast before donating.

The Sisters of LASH (Leather and SisterHood) would like to invite the
entire BDSM/Fetish/Kink Community to join them for a Holiday Dinner at MCC
Church in Fulton Hall at 4333 30th Street on Friday, December 15th at 7:00
P.M. The cost is $10.00 per person for a wonderful meal and door prizes
provided by LASH.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. You may purchase your tickets
from any of the women of LASH or from the Obelisk book store in
Hillcrest. They must be purchased no later than December 10th.
The money raised will go to a children's shelter in the North County
that houses abused and neglected children. Casa de Emparo is the name of
this shelter. They are without their families for the Holidays and the
money raised from the dinner will provide gifts for each of them. Our
hope is that we can provide at least one item per child that will make
each of them smile and know that they haven't been forgotten.
