Daniel Sonnenfeld is International Mr. Deaf Leather '96. He has been involved with leather since 1978, and has held/holds officer and board positions with many Deaf and Hearing, Leather and AIDS organizations. His personal philosophy is building bridges between Deaf and Hearing communities through personal involvements and inclusion of minorities into Deaf and leather activities. Originally from France, Daniel is bi-cultural in more ways than one! He works in the high tech industry.

Rose Vergara: FemDomme, blood-slut, lawyer, author, speaker, educator. Rose was awarded the first Vaughan Keith Memorial Service Elder Award and is a Black Rose Emeritus Board Member. She co-chaired BR10 and BR '98, is co-facilitator of BR Gateway and BRWomen, and coordinator of the joint BR/SigMa/MOD meetings. She presently serves as Legal Director for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, on the board of the Leather Leadership Conference and as legal counsel for Black Rose, BR10, Inc., and The Leather Rascals, Inc. She was Tally Mistress for Mr. Maryland Leather in 1998, Judge for Mr. Maryland Drummer in 1999 and has been asked to judge IMsL in July, 1999.

Keith Truitt is Aquarius, which means humanitarian. Keith is ombudsman in the San Francisco Leather Community and recently retired from the board of Aids Emergency Fund after seven years of service.

A graduate of U.C. Berkeley in Engineering, dan hughes went on to study at the university of leather and s/m of Jeff Tucker and Steve Crane -- his Daddies. His studies cumulated with the honor of International Drummerboy 1997, which afforded him the opportunity both to speak nationally at various workshops and seminars, and to participate in various contests around the nation as both Contestant Co-Ordinator and Judge. However, dan's proudest and happiest accomplishment is his continuing 24/7 Daddy/boy relationship with his Sirs

Melinda Chateauvert escaped Iowa in 1976 for SF and is very happy to be strolling the Tenderloin again. She now lives in Washington DC, where among other things, she is a transitional board member of DCSMA, (District of Columbia Sexual Minority Advocates), the Public Affairs Director of NCSF, a Black Rose member, and a faculty member in the Afro-American Studies Program at the University of Maryland.
Gary Virginia GARY VIRGINIA is a columnist for SF Frontiers and President of the Board of Directors of Positive Resource Center (SF). Since his HIV disability in 1996, he has used his title of Mr. San Francisco Leather ‘96 as a platform for activism, coalition building, and fund raising for numerous causes.

Laura Goodwin

"Don't talk to me about Naval Tradition, it's nothing but rum, sodomy, and the lash." (Winston Churchill) Laura Goodwin (Ms. NLA-I '92) founded/facilitates United Leatherfolk of CT (non-profit, pansexual support group, established March, 1990). She edits/publishes *The Leatherfolk Connection* (ULC's newsletter), and administrates the ULC web site. She also moderates 3 lively BDSM mail lists. Although merely annoying, Laura aspires to become utterly insufferable.

Joe Gallagher Joe Gallagher was International Mr. Leather 1996. Joe lived in NYC for many years where he was active on the Board of GMSMA. He and his lover Joel moved to SF in 1998. He is now working on the SMMILE board to bring you Folsom Street Fair.
Tom Rodgers Born 1950; graduated LSU, moved to NYC, became a leatherman 1971; became an attorney, moved to Europe 1974; practiced 6 years environmental law at international, state and federal levels; moved to SF 1979; opened own practice 1980; since 1980 founded, served as a board member or advised as pro bono counsel numerous non-profits. I am a longterm HIVer, Leather Daddy IV of San Francisco (1986-87), received various community service awards, on the 1991 Bare Chest calendar, a frequent charity auctioneer, and in semi-retirement own a small leatherman's guesthouse.
